Sergio V. Leal
Head of Compliance, North & South America and M&A, Ericsson
Sergio V. Leal is an international anticorruption and white collar attorney based in Houston, Texas, and he is a member of Ericsson's legal department, overseeing ABC compliance topics for mergers and acquisitions activities globally. Sergio is also the Head of Compliance for North and South America, responsible for compliance operations in 35+ countries. Prior to Ericsson, Sergio was the Head of Compliance for North America at Bilfinger, where he helped the company resolve its extended FCPA monitorship. And prior to Bilfinger, Sergio was the Chief Compliance Officer of Layne Christiansen, where he led the company through it's FCPA settlement obligations with the SEC. Sergio began his legal career as a commercial litigator with the international law firm of Baker Botts LLP. Sergio graduated from Columbia Law School and obtained a B.A. in economics from the University of Texas at Austin. In his personal time Sergio serves on the Boards of Directors of two non-profit organizations and helps raise 3 children with his beautiful wife.
