Trudy Tan

Trudy Tan is the Global Head of Ethics, Risk & Compliance (ERC) for Novartis Pharmaceuticals. In this role, she is responsible for the strategic design, delivery and implementation of a robust ethics, risk & compliance program supporting the achievement of the company’s ambitions with integrity and high ethical standards.
Trudy joined Novartis in October 2017. Prior to this, she was VP Compliance, North America, for AstraZeneca, where she held various roles of increasing responsibility in her 11 years with the company. These included Asia Pacific Internal Audit Director, China Compliance Director, Asia Pacific Compliance Director and VP Compliance for the International Region, covering more than 75 markets across Asia Pacific, Middle East, Africa and Latin America.
Earlier in her career, Trudy worked in a number of Audit, Risk Management, Process Risk Consulting and Finance roles in both a professional accounting firm and in public listed companies in oil and gas and telcommunications sectors.
Trudy obtained her Bachelor of Commerce degree in Monash University, Australia, and is a Fellow of Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA), Australia, and the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. She is also a Certified Internal Auditor.
A Malaysian national, Trudy has lived and worked in Australia, Singapore, China, and the United States. She is currently based in Switzerland with her husband and two daughters
