Paul Williams

Paul S. Williams is a public and private company director and immediate past President of the Chicago Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors. His experience on seven public company boards over 20 years has spanned diverse industries. He has served as Lead Independent Director and chaired Compensation Committees, Nominating & Governance Committees, and CEO Search Committees. Paul currently is a member of the boards of directors of Public Storage (NYSE: PSA) and Air Transport Services Group (NASDAQ: ATSG). He also serves on the board of a cluster of numerous funds in the American Funds mutual fund family (part of the privately held Capital Group, which has $1.9 trillion in total assets under management). Paul previously served on the following boards: Compass Minerals, a producer of salt and specialty fertilizers; State Auto Financial Corp, a property and casualty insurer; Bob Evans Farms, an operator of several hundred family dining restaurants; and Essendant, a former Fortune 500 business products distributor. Paul is the retired chief legal officer and corporate secretary of Cardinal Health, Inc. (NYSE: CAH), a Fortune 25 global healthcare services company. After Cardinal, Paul honed his human capital skill set and joined the international search firm of Major, Lindsey & Africa, where he conducted legal executive searches and served as co-leader of the firm’s CEO & Board Practice. Paul received his undergraduate degree, cum laude, from Harvard and his J.D. from Yale Law School.
