Karen Moore is a compliance, ethics and privacy professional with demonstrated success and twenty years of experience designing, implementing and maturing corporate compliance and privacy programs in global companies. A Principal at Sounding Board Compliance, she provides advisory services to corporate officers, board members and compliance professionals. A member of the NY bar, Karen started her law career as a judicial clerk at the US Court of International trade, after which she spent several years in private practice with the global law firm, Baker & McKenzie. She then held various senior in-house law and compliance positions with Philip Morris International, NASDAQ and Inchcape Shipping Services. She most recently served as the Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer at Unisys Corporation. Currently an advisor to corporate boards and officers, adjunct professor at Fordham Law School, panelist on the popular Compliance Podcast Network "Everything Compliance," and frequent speaker on data privacy, compliance and ethics, Karen holds a BA from Middlebury College, a JD from Emory University, and a certificate of European legal studies from Leiden University. An avid (if not adventurous) skiier, Karen holds a Level 1 certificate from the Professional Ski Instructors of American, and during the season teaches beginners at Liberty Mountain, a Vail Resort. Equally passionate about Gilbert & Sullivan, Karen also serves on the Board of the Victorian Lyric Opera Company. Currently based in the Washington DC metro area, Mrs. Moore has also lived and worked in Moscow, Russia, and Lausanne, Switzerland
