Jose is Americas Lead Counsel and Senior Managing Director in the Office of General Counsel of Deloitte Global, which is part of the Deloitte network of independent professional services member firms. Deloitte Global develops and leads global strategies and provides services and support to the Deloitte member firms and their affiliates across the world. Jose leads and supports teams working on complex litigation, investigation, and other risk matters, regulatory compliance, corporate transactions and combinations, and governance matters primarily in the Americas. Before joining Deloitte, Jose was a partner at the global law firm of Sidley Austin LLP and built his law practice defending securities enforcement actions, white collar matters and complex civil litigation. Jose also worked in government as a Senior Trial Counsel with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and was responsible for a wide range of complex and high-profile investigation and enforcement cases involving accounting restatements, disclosure fraud, unregistered securities offerings, insider trading, broker-dealers and investment advisers. Jose also served as a federal judicial law clerk for the Honorable Richard A. Paez, then of the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and then for the late Honorable Harry Pregerson of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Jose earned his J.D. from Stanford Law School and graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College.
